Tanzania is less famous as a name than its component parts. Not only is it home to Mount Kilimanjaro, the world’s highest free-standing mountain, it is also home to the famous spice island of Zanzibar with its world-class beaches and diving. The Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater are perhaps the best safari destinations on the planet and are also in Tanzania. Lake Victoria, famous source of The Nile is also part of this amazing destination. However, it is the warmth and incredible friendly nature of its people that makes Tanzania so special and keeps people returning again and again. This is the one country in Africa that has never experienced any civil unrest. The first president of Tanzania, Julius Nyerere (known as Mwalimu, the father of the nation) told his people that they are Tanzanian first and their tribe is second to that. There is just so much to see, that it is hard to do the country justice on a single trip. However, there is no reason why you can’t have a flavour of each.
