Overview

Gibb’s farm has been around for many years and is a well-established and recognised name. It is a good option as an alternative to smaller tented camps. It offers extra activities outside the obviously fantastic safaris. Guests can rise before dawn, milk the cows and even make bread before a fantastic breakfast made up of home-grown produce. The lodge was once a coffee plantation built by Germans and is a tranquil place with twenty spacious stone cottages around the 10 acre estate. It is just a 30 minute drive to the famous Ngorongoro crater and set amongst rolling hills offering lovely views.

When the migration is in the area, Gibbs is well-placed and very popular with the American market who flock here on package deals, particularly from December through to March, when the migration is at its peak nearby. This is the obvious downside - it gets busy!
