  • Day 2

Today is all about quality family time.  You may choose to simply enjoy the wilderness beach at the camp.  Take walks, play football along the long beach, swim in the warm Indian ocean waters or maybe head down to play on the canoe on the creek or take a nature walk with one of the guides around the camp plot. Maybe head down to the wildlife research centre for a conservation talk on the Saadani elephants and historical collaring, the camp’s zebra collaring as well as learning about the endangered green turtles which nest in the nearby Madete marine park.  If turtles are hatching, the camp will take you down to see the tiny hatchlings head down to the sea, a wonderful experience to behold.  As night draws in, maybe quietly head down to the hideout before dinner to see if anything is drinking from the waterhole such as mongooses, bush pigs and civets from the camp hide.
  • Day 3

After breakfast, drive South to the Wami River for a wonderful boat safari and game drive back to the tower at Babs Camp , arriving after dark in time for an amazing dinner out on the salt flats. The tower is a 20 metre high stone structure complete with two suites, a private bar & restaurant and its own fifth storey crows’ nest. This camp is set on the edge of a salt flat ecosystem, and is a favourite place for passing elephants. We have discovered over the years that many animals like to settle near to the tower at night as they feel safe. Dinner at the tower's restaurant.
  • Day 4

Awake early for a foot safari on the salt flats returning for brunch at the tower. Relax at the crow's nest, looking out for animals and checking the camera trap before heading for a late afternoon game drive through the park.
  • Day 5

After an early morning game drive in Saadani and a bush breakfast, swapping cars and drive onto Selous Game Reserve (now,Nyerere National Park).

Awake early to explore the surrounding area on foot. You will also visit the tree-house en route back to the lodge to check if anything is drinking at the waterhole. Enjoy a sumptuous brunch and the remainder of the day spent at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Sable Mountain lodge.
